“I just wanted to say a big thank You to Anita for supporting me during my pregnancy and birth. The doula service is amazing and felt so blessed to be able to access it. Anita supported me throughout this beautiful journey and without her support things would not have gone as I wanted. I opted for a home birth, i felt empowered and increased my confidence in sticking to what I wanted. It was great to see someone so passionate about helping me and act as an advocate. Thank you again for everything, the best decision I made, to have a home birth. Anita supported me throughout and made me feel comfortable and made it possible with all the encouragement and support. We really appreciate all the support during birth as you went above and beyond and we can never forget. Thank you.”

“I can't thank Anita enough for the incredible support she provided during my sister-in-law's home birth. From the very first meeting, she made us all feel comfortable and well-informed. We had a couple of meetings leading up to the birth, where she took the time to understand my sister-in-law’s birth plan, address any questions or concerns she had, and ensure that we all felt prepared and confident. Her thoughtful guidance during these sessions made a huge difference in how we approached the birth.
When the big day arrived, Anita’s knowledge and experience were evident as she supported my sister-in-law through each stage of labor with patience and expertise. She was a constant source of encouragement, always knowing exactly what to do to help my sister-in-law stay relaxed and focused.
She made sure we all felt included and supported—whether it was answering our questions or keeping us updated on what was happening, she made the entire experience feel like a collaborative effort. Her compassion and professionalism were unmatched, and her calm demeanor was a true asset in creating such a peaceful and empowering birth experience.
Thanks to Anita, my sister-in-law's birth was everything we could have hoped for, and I know it wouldn’t have been the same without her. If you're looking for someone who will provide expert support, create a positive atmosphere, and help you feel fully prepared, I can’t recommend Anita enough. She truly made the birth a beautiful and memorable event !.”

“I had my fourth child in 2020 right in the thick on covid. I had just moved to a new state too and so accessing health care was almost impossible. I then remembered my friend was/is a doula. We got talking and she shared with me a wealth of knowledge. As luck would have it, she was pregnant too. My previous child birth experiences were marred with screaming, crying plus having to be induced with my third but through techniques i learnt from Anita this was the easiest birth out of all four. She taught me how to breath through labor, also i came to the realization that i can advocate for myself better and make my own decisions on certain things. For example I was able to labor while walking in the hallway instead of lying in the hospital bed. The gravity helped a great deal with the baby descending. I know this made a huge difference. Labor is painful and no walk in the park but if one's prepared, it can go seamlessly. I have recommended Anita to many of my friends that are expecting and they all agree that her warm spirit calms their fears and makes them feel more prepared.”

“I met Anita some years ago and felt instantly that she was someone extraordinary—almost as if she was sent by the ancestors to support families in a deeply decolonial, loving and magical way. She brings a timeless wisdom to her work, embodying both gentleness and strength as a radical educator. Her dedication to community-building and uplifting the diaspora is both inspiring and transformative.”

“Anita is a deep listener with an inextinguishable passion for the empowerment of her sisters and reclamation of traditional ways. As a colleague, I have seen her support so many families and women navigate challenging life changes and joyful transitions with non-judgement, compassion and sensitivity. Intuitive, full of questions and absolutely hilarious, Mama Tete is one safe pair of hands with a big heart.”
